After leaving Mainz for Hoffenheim towards the end of the transfer window, Anton Stach says the role he had at his former club didn’t suit him.
Anton Stach has explained his move to Hoffenheim, saying that the main reason he wanted to make the move was that he felt he was being played out of position by Mainz coach Bo Svensson.
“Above all, I often played in a position that I felt was not optimal for my strengths, often as a right number 10 or even on the wing,” Stach told Kicker.
“Even though I accepted coach Bo Svensson’s decision, I’m best as a number six or number eight.
“Hoffenheim suit my style of play very well and I hope to develop my game here,” said Stach, who has signed a contract with Die Kraichgauer until 2027.
