Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry are making good progress in their recovery from injury.
Gnabry is expected to be included in the squad for the first time since suffering a broken forearm in September, while Goretzka could return from the hand injury he suffered against Mainz 10 days ago.
“Things are looking pretty good for Leon Goretzka, he could be in the squad tomorrow,” Tuchel told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Things are also looking good for Serge Gnabry after his illness. We expect him to be in the squad.”
Dayot Upamecano and Raphael Guerreiro remain sidelined, while Noussair Mazraoui, Jamal Musiala (both ill) and Kingsley Coman (knock) are doubts.
The question is whether the game will take place at all due to the rainy conditions, a decision that will be made tomorrow. For now, Tuchel expects the game to go ahead as scheduled.
“The planning has been going on for a long time. We’ll travel on the day of the game. If the game is canceled, we might not even leave. There should be another inspection of the pitch today and tomorrow. At the moment we’re assuming we’ll play,” he said.
