Union Berlin trainer Urs Fischer revealed that talismanic attacker Sheraldo Becker is battling illness ahead of the weekend clash with VfB Stuttgart.
Union Berlin’s leading goal scorer has been recovering from a bout of sickness and was unable to partake in training over the past few days. FCU head-coach revealed that Sheraldo Becker came down with a cold this week, but didn’t wish to totally rule the Dutch-Suriname attacker out for the weekend yet.
“In the end, I hope it’s not too bad and he can come back tomorrow and take part in training,” Fischer said at a Thursday presser, “We still have Jordan Siebatcheu, though he and Kevin Behrens are perhaps too similar center-forward types. Jamie Leweling and Sven Michel are available too.”
Fischer wished to make clear that – even if he was facing the league’s current last-placed team – there was very much a need to take the encounter seriously. The FCU gaffer called the Swabians an “active and confident” side that could pose problems in the final third.
